portable water purifier
Designed for regions within the tropics, where sunshine is most abundant, AquaIris is a three-step water purifier. The portable device collects water which then runs through a removable mesh filter before running under a layer of `converter crystals´ that shift the Sun´s rays to germicidal UVC, neutralizing any pathogens before consumption.
The concept adheres to the vision of manipulating the characteristics of materials through nanotechnology, creating a more poetic coexistence between man and nature.
The project was awarded the Victor Papanek Social Design Award 2011
