Milan 2015 Update! taliaYstudio shows 1.5 projects at Salone del Mobile

SO, our stand is all wrapped up and ready to ship to this year´s edition to Ventura Lambrate, where we will be pre-launching our collaboration with Vienna´s finest SUPERSENSE. time for an update!

This year, taliaYstudio will be showing a low-tech project developed together with Supersense in-house photographer Marco Christian Krenn and Doc Kaps. Together, we proudly present the JELLYJEWEL at our taliaYstudio & SUPERSENSE Lab. For this very special edition of our Jellyseries, visitors will witness how we carefully and magically melt their very own Polaroid picture onto perfectly rounded vintage glass. Framed by pure sterling silver, handcrafted in the heart of Vienna, the JELLYJEWELS are unique treasures. We will be lifting Polaroids daily from 2-3pm at our stand in Via Ventura 14, and Marco the master-lifter will join us from Thursday till Saturday, in case you want to learn from the master himself! We´re looking forward to seeing you there - follow talia on twitter @taliaradford for regular updates on our lab timetable. Also, our JellySeries and JellyJewels will be available for purchase at the on-site CROWDY HOUSE Ventura Lambrate edition, so don´t forget to use the #jellyseries on instagram if you end up getting one for yourself!

Over at La Pelota, the Austrian Design Pioneers will be showcasing some the republic´s finest independent designers and companies. Their legendary Thursday night party will include a guest appearance from Lightscores founder and initiator, Veronika Mayerböck. Veronika will be using the wearable device that she and her team are developing, in an interactive light performance dance that will create sound through movement in light and shadow. taliaYstudio is proud to have been the product design team for the latest stage of development of this wonderful auditory-feedback tool, which Veronika originally developed several years ago as a performance tool but that, thanks to funding from AWS, she has been able to continue developing a wireless version as a therapeutic tool for, amongst other, (partially) blind children with underdeveloped motoric skills. Don´t forget to sign up to the party!

See you in Milano x

We´ve been hibernating all winter in the studio getting ready for Milan (where we´ll be presenting both high-tech and low-tech projects), but first we wanted get a thorough analog and digital spring clean of the studio so we´ve reworked our communication platforms as well as our studio space

A massive thank you to the wonderful Monika who´s been working with us throughout this process - it´s been absolutely seamless working with you on this transition!

So, welcome to our website! We invite you to take a look around and look forward to your feedback, and to getting in touch!

Selfless Selfie: Our collaboration with WeBandits

We´re super happy to finally have a product on the market because people love it and we love to make people happy.

Which is why when Sophie Pollack, from our number one favourite store We Bandits, asked us if we wanted to donate some JellySeries for the Falter Christmas charity tombola campaign we were over the moon. Finally our designs could actually be used for social good by raising money for the Wiener Integrationshaus

The Wiener Integrationshaus is the biggest NGO that supports asylum seekers and immigrants arriving to and living in Vienna. By participating in the raffle your donation will go to support psychological care for child refugees as well as German-speaking courses for asylum seekers.

You can donate starting 10€ here , which will buy you one raffle. But it´s for charity so you won´t mind spending much much more, since the more generous you are the more raffle tickets you have and so the bigger the chance you have at winning, but also and more importantly the more opportunities you are encouraging for a more seamless integration into this sometimes bitter-cold and often unfriendly and distant place called Vienna. Now...

Who doesn´t love to take a colourful selfless selfie

Bienvenue, Catalina!

The studio has been having a crazy fun challenging time this year- whipping up application concepts for unprecedented technology, designing and prototyping and working towards launch deadlines, travelling a LOT (yay!) to promote, network, connect, converse, debate, learn, drink and dine and let people play with the things we create.

There´s been a steady growth of interest for the work of the studio and so it was time to do the previously unthinkable - delegate some serious work to someone talented; add some non-designer into the team for the long-run; someone who´s playground is a business canvas instead of a sketching dialogue; but most importantly someone who gets design but speaks market.

In short, a sales and marketing connoisseur.

Meet the wonderful Catalina Scalbert, fresh off the plane from the beating heart of the textiles industry in Istanbul with a detour designer work-over in Beirut after finishing her studies in her homeland France, and with enough energy and sense of adventure to be an obvious keeper from the word go.

If you have any sales inquiries be sure to contact Catalina!

JellySeries launch party at the MAKshop

Screen Shot 2014-11-18 at 20.51.01.png

The MAK - Museum of Applied Arts in Vienna is one of our favourite places in Vienna, one of our top museums in the world, with one of the best curated design shops we´ve ever visited.

Yes, we´re fans. So we were over the moon when Ewa Esterhazy, curator and owner of the museum shop, invited us to do a special Launch party during the Lange Nacht des Designs on November 14th.

The night was colourful bubbleful, what with our own soap bubble machine showering visitors at the entrance, Bubble Wine from our friends at Zum Gschupten Ferdl which we coloured in the 150 Years of MAK colours, and our brass-rimmed glass pendants displayed on our giant white folded paper landscape for our guests to play with.

Thanks to everyone who came for the fantastic night and for the MAK design shop for hosting us!

p.s. yes you can buy the special edition 150 years of MAK JellySeries online
