Spring Clean! Reworking and launching our new website

10425470_1059234687426846_378543128744541711_n.png

We´ve been hibernating all winter in the studio getting ready for Milan (where we´ll be presenting both high-tech and low-tech projects), but first we wanted get a thorough analog and digital spring clean of the studio so we´ve reworked our communication platforms as well as our studio space

A massive thank you to the wonderful Monika who´s been working with us throughout this process - it´s been absolutely seamless working with you on this transition!

So, welcome to our website! We invite you to take a look around and look forward to your feedback, and to getting in touch!

Selfless Selfie: Our collaboration with WeBandits

We´re super happy to finally have a product on the market because people love it and we love to make people happy.

Which is why when Sophie Pollack, from our number one favourite store We Bandits, asked us if we wanted to donate some JellySeries for the Falter Christmas charity tombola campaign we were over the moon. Finally our designs could actually be used for social good by raising money for the Wiener Integrationshaus

The Wiener Integrationshaus is the biggest NGO that supports asylum seekers and immigrants arriving to and living in Vienna. By participating in the raffle your donation will go to support psychological care for child refugees as well as German-speaking courses for asylum seekers.

You can donate starting 10€ here , which will buy you one raffle. But it´s for charity so you won´t mind spending much much more, since the more generous you are the more raffle tickets you have and so the bigger the chance you have at winning, but also and more importantly the more opportunities you are encouraging for a more seamless integration into this sometimes bitter-cold and often unfriendly and distant place called Vienna. Now...

Who doesn´t love to take a colourful selfless selfie

Talia Radford hosts an ideation workshop during Fast Company´s Innovation by Design Conference

Thanks to Noah Robinschon, executive editor of Fast Company, for tweeting this! During yesterday´s Fast Company conference, Talia was invited to host one of the tables during lunch for selected guests. Obviously she got the post-it notes out and started an ideation session! For us, it´s all about knowledge transfer and a mutual interest in sharing creative processes and food-for-thought.

If you´re interested in one of our ideation sessions to help you bring your projects forward, get in touch!

Innovation by Design Conference and Awards

After a full two days of Fast Company´s workshops, lectures and podium discussions, last night we celebrated the Innovation by Design Awards.

Even though our KissCam did not win in it´s Experimental Category, we´re super happy for the guys from MIT´s Tangible Media Groups InForm project for a well-deserved win, and super inspired to have spent the whole evening together excited about each other´s projects and generally interacting with some of the most creative minds in the industry.

Thanks so much to Fast Company for their incredible efforts to set-up a tip-top conference. I´m definately going to put it on my calendar for next year, and I urge you to do the same.

Two lovely and unforgettable details about last night: finding out that John Maeda was part of the Jury for our category; and finally reuniting and celebrating with former taliaYstudio team member Kickie Chudikova, who worked on the KissCam project before moving to her dream city of NYC. #almostthemost #doubletrouble fever was all around. <3

taliaYstudio + OSRAM part II

She said yes!

After a super successful first outcome (both parties were very happy about it) in our collaboration with OSRAM´s OLEDs department (funded by departure), the studio is warming up to start our second leg with them, this time focussing on transparent OLEDs - that´s pieces of see-through glass where the surface lights up when connected to electricity (!?!?!). For that we´re switching up the residencies in the studio: we´re super excited to have Kickie Chudikova stepping up and accompanying us on this next product journey. Lena Gold is stepping down (and currently enjoying media arts festival MultiMadeira) to pursue her own projects but will still come in from time to time for the sake of continuity in graphical matters and of course for coffee. We hope to see you in our morning coffee sessions on/if you return from paradise island!!
